A labor union is an association of workers who bond together with an aim of achieving certain objectives. Leaders of labor unions negotiate with employers on matters which affect the employees which include working regulations, enumeration, complaint channels, hiring and firing, working conditions and other policies. Websites which are against the formation of labor unions advice companies to first seek the services of a lawyer before blocking their formation.

The first objection towards creation of a labor union is the economic factor. When employees join a union, the company is supposed to foot the union wages as well as the benefits. Those that advice labor unions on ways of efficient organization argue that unionized workers are better paid than non-union workers. This implies that the company will have to spend more thus increasing cost of production (Woodweb.com, 2000).

To add on, those against creation of unions say that union representatives incite workers to down their tools even on flimsy grounds. They advice managers that the best way to control unions is to group several key employees into management positions. Those in management cant join unions. Moreover, small wage increment can dissuade employees from joining labor organization. However, different websites gives tips of successful organizing.

Qualified union organizers can only emerge from several organizing campaigns. Moreover, these campaigns require sufficient teams of volunteers with specific responsibilities for the union to be effective. To add on, these unions should distance themselves from National Labor Relations Board, since it focuses more on the interest of the employer. To add the trust of employees, unions should also create a friendly working environment with the employer and the surrounding community (Woodweb.com, 2000).
