Diverse workforce is the equal representation of different skills and knowledge pooled from across all races, ethnic and age, gender thus an experience of unique group entity. It brings many opportunities and benefits to an institution for instance improved problem solving, employee satisfaction, improved productivity and retention of best talent just to name a few.

In my current position as customer care manager, diversity has been our key strength and the most important asset we have as an institution in communication industry. we are able to synthesize a variety of perspectives and processes in satisfying our clients. It has brought us creativity and innovation and thus our satisfied customer base and this has seen us grow in leaps. The cultural diversity of our staff in which am in charge of whenever bringing new staff has been our key strength. I ensure that, I provide a leadership that is democratic and thus ensure commitment in the different teams that report to me while at same availing information and communicating effectively. In addition, knowledge of responsibilities by all staff is my responsibility and I cap this by making sure resources necessary for making our initiatives a reality.

This doesnt come without challenges, as managing diverse ideas comes with miscommunication because of different interpretations, motivating and managing diverse characters is really tough. Cultural bias against individuals and the problem of assimilation where genuine selfs lack at work place is common. Nevertheless, with individual awareness and sensitivity of ages, gender, social class we perform equal opportunity training, research to overcome these challenges. We seek continuous training of our teams to improve productivity amongst ourselves.

In conclusion, I recommend diversity in all institutions  coupled with mentorship since its a reality in our communication company and can be replicated elsewhere with same success if handled with care at all levels .
